DESCRIPTION: We will custom mount your Vortex Venom red dot optic on the slide as described below. We do a custom mount that requires milling of the slide to reduce the overall profile of the optic, bringing it down closer to the bore by lowering is 0.150". This permits acceptable co-witnessing of the suppressor height iron sights as well as standard height sights on some models. We are careful not to alter the function or reliability of the internal workings of the slide.
SPECIAL NOTES: This product is a machining operation only. It does not include refinishing of the exposed metal, that is sold separately. It does not include the actual optic.
RECOMMENDED ACCESSORIES: Bare metal is exposed when we provide this product, thus refinishing is recommended to prevent rust/oxidation. Refinishing options and associated cuts/parts are highlighted below in the Accessories section.
LEO/MIL/1ST RESPONDER: We refund 10% on machining and refinishing options to LEO/MIL/1ST RESPONDERS with valid credentials. You need to send us via text/email/with your package, a copy of your credentials. We refund the 10% upon completion of the work. This item qualifies for the discount.
COMPATIBILITY: This optic cut is compatible with most other slide mods we offer, see specific model details below.
GLOCK (All models except slimline [G42,43,etc.], G41 and G17L)
This mounting package mounts a Vortex Venom only, on Glocks. Due to the longer footprint of the Venom optic, the optic's mount will obliterate the Glock OEM rear sight dovetail. Most shooters are simply using the rear sight markings on the rear of the Venom's housing to cowitness their front sight, albeit not ideal. Place a new dovetail forward of the optic isn't ideal because the striker safety plunger channel will be invaded and potentially safety compromised. The front and rear wall of the inlet will be cut to match the optic perfectly, as well as bosses at the forward index points, thereby providing additional stabilization/locating points. If you need us to install/change your iron sites, or just disassemble/reassemble your slide, please add the armorer fee to your shopping cart, that will cover the sites swap. Of course we will need the sites if you're not purchasing them from us.... If you're purchasing new irons, they must be suppressor sights to be tall enough to co-witness. This machining will expose raw steel which we recommend refinishing to prevent oxidation/rusting. We offer Cerakote and PVD options separately.SMITH & WESSON (M&P 9/40/9c/40c)We can mount your Vortex Venom on your S&W M&P's using the same style inlet mount as described above in the Glock section. The original rear sight dovetail is however eliminated, we can however, on the M&P's, place a dovetail forward of the optic to accept a Glock style rear iron sight. We offer these sights in our Triggers & Sights section. Keep in mind the optic is mounted such that your striker safety plunger and spring assembly will be captured by the optic similar in fashion to how it's captured by the rear iron sight on the OEM slide. OTHER SLIDESWe have yet to cut a Vortex Venom inlet on any other makes besides Glock and S&W. We will be happy to consider other options such as CZ, HK and Sig. However these are on a case by case basis and armorer's fees may be different. We require prior contact and approval before accepting other slides. Please contact us via email first.
OPTIONS AVAILABLE: We do not offer a blank for this cut at this time.
HOW TO ORDER: Enter the quantity desired above as well as any options offered above. Take a look at the refinishing options we offer and any other products you wish to purchase. Once your purchase is complete, you'll receive an email receipt with shipping instructions.
WHAT YOU SEND/SHIP US: This product is to machine a slide you provide. You'll need to send us your slide. Unless you're ordering other products that involve the barrel or frame, we don't need those shipped to us. We do not require you to send the optic. However if you send it we will mount it prior to shipping back. To do the machining we require the slide to be completely stripped of all internals and sights. If you can't or don't want to do the disassembly prior to shipping, no problem, just include the armorer's fee above and we'll tear it down, then reassemble it before shipping back. We recommend shipping via FedEx or UPS but we will accept USPS if you use them. Should you insure your package for replacement cost and include the optic, USPS will most likely require a signature and will not make the effort to deliver to our shop, they will only place a tag in our mailbox. Thus USPS signature packages will have some delay in being received. We will ship your parts back FedEx, shipping is free.
